Dear Mom and Dad,
I want to talk to you honestly — the way you raised me to. Not with a pitch or a presentation. Just your daughter, telling you what she's building and why this time is real.
Since 2022 you have been there for me in ways I don't take lightly. I carry that. I know what it has cost you — not just financially, but in worry, in sleepless moments, in faith extended when things were unclear. I owe you approximately $100,000 over that time. I am not pretending otherwise.
About May 2026 — I want to be honest about this
I spent about $6,000 in May getting myself and this business ready. That included clothes, accessories, getting my hair done, and going out six nights a week — which was real market research, not just fun, though it was fun too. I walked every entertainment district in Austin. I talked to bar owners, musicians, comedians, and venue managers. I know this market now because I lived in it for a month. That $6,000 was an investment in showing up as someone people want to do business with. I own it. And I'm committed to paying it back to you first, before anything else.
Starting July 1st I am opening two businesses in downtown Austin — MaestraMarketing.com, a social media management agency serving the creative community on Dirty 6th Street, and T.O.G.I.T., a private invitation-only evening experience in the same building. I have a space. I have a team. I have clients already expressing interest. I have an investor who believes in the vision.
What I want you to know about the money is this: I am not asking you to wait three years. As cash comes in — and it will start coming in June — I intend to send you something every week. Not a fixed amount I can't keep. A real amount, tied to what I actually brought in that week. Some weeks it will be small. Some weeks it will surprise you. But it will be consistent and it will be honest.

The bigger pictureNot forgotten — never was
I know you are less worried about the money than you are about me. You want to see me stable. Grounded. Building something that holds. That is exactly what you are about to watch happen.
I have been building things from scratch my entire career — inside other people's companies, by other people's rules. This is the first time it is entirely mine. That changes everything about how hard I work and how long I stay.
Grant and Michael will be helping. Willie will probably be at the office. And when you come to Austin — and I hope you do — I will take you to dinner on Rainey Street and show you exactly what your daughter built.

I love you both very much. Thank you for never stopping believing in me even when I made it hard.
Mary
